MOORHEAD, Minn. (1/06/12) – The Concordia College Athletic Department will help in the aid for Benilde-St. Margaret’s High School hockey player Jack Jablonski who was partially paralyzed last week and underwent surgery to fuse his vertebrae on Wednesday.

Concordia will be collecting donations at all four home hockey games this weekend. Fans will be able to make donations at the ticket booth and concession stand and all proceeds will go directly to the Jack Jablonski Fund.
Fans who donate at least $5 will receive a Cobber bobblehead.
On Friday Jan. 6 the Cobber men’s hockey team hosts UW-Eau Claire at 2 p.m. and then the women’s team hosts Lindenwood (Mo.) at 5:30 p.m. Both teams will play again on Saturday, Jan. 7 at 2 p.m. with the men taking on nationally-ranked UW-River Falls and the women hosting Lindenwood for the second straight day. All four games will be held at the Moorhead Sports Center.
Jack Jablonski was a member of the Benilde-St. Margaret’s junior varsity team in St. Louis Park. He was checked from behind in a recent game which left him unable to move his legs. His post-surgery prognosis remains grim and he is not expected to walk again. It has been reported that he has some movement in his right shoulder and biceps that may eventually allow him to drive a wheel chair and perhaps feed himself.
